The defoamer refers to the secondary steam containing a large amount of liquid during evaporation operation. Although it is separated in the separation chamber, in order to prevent loss of useful products or pollution of condensate, it is necessary to reduce the entrained liquid foam, so a defoamer installation is set near the steam outlet. There are many forms of defoamer, which can be directly installed on the top of evaporator and not often outside the evaporator.

Hg/t21618-1998 is a substitute for the original standards of the Ministry of work (hg5-1404-81, hg5-1405-81, hg5-1406-81), combined with the practical use experience of the defoamer and the * * technology in the imported equipment. The original three standards are combined into one standard, which can only be divided into upper and lower ones.
