working principle
In the process of separation of heavy medium hydrocyclones, the material and suspension are fed into the hydrocyclone with certain pressure along the tangent direction, forming a strong vortex flow; The liquid flow from the feed port forms a downward spiral flow along the inner wall of the hydrocyclone; A rising inner spiral flow is formed near the axis of the hydrocyclone; Air is drawn in because of the negative pressure of the inner spiral flow, and air column is formed in the axis of the hydrocyclone; The fine coal in the feed flows upward with the inner spiral, and it is discharged from the overflow port, the gangue flows down with the outer spiral and from the bottom flow port. The formation mechanism of air column is: because the bottom flow pipe and overflow pipe are directly connected with the atmosphere, the two-phase flow entering the hydrocyclone moves with strong spiral vortex. When the tangent velocity increases to the critical speed, certain resistance is generated at each outlet of the cyclone, forming the internal rotating flow field, leading to axial negative pressure, and the air enters the hydrocyclone through overflow pipe and bottom flow pipe, Under the joint action of axial negative pressure drive and fluid convection transmission, it gradually develops into a through air column. When the particle density is larger than the density of suspension, the resultant force of particles in the radius of R is positive, and the particles are thrown out of spiral flow; Otherwise, the particles are dumped into the inner spiral flow; Thus, the particles with density greater than the medium and those with density less than the medium are separated. In hydrocyclone, centrifugal force is several times to dozens times larger than gravity, so separation speed is greatly accelerated and separation effect is improved.
